Chapter 5`
Chapter five was all about software and other tools that help professionals accomplish their given tasks more efficiently and more accurately. This would be defined as productivity software. This particular chapter happened to focus on more common tools such as Microsoft word, excel, publisher, access, etc. The book states that word-processing software is "the most commonly used computer application". Programs such as word-processing software have almost entirely replaced older technology such as the typewriter. The advantage to using word-processing software instead of a typewriter is that you can store and manipulate your data until you are finished working. With a typewriter you would have to be very careful not to make an error because you can not manipulate what you do as you do it.

I defintley agree that technology is constantly advancing. I think it will be interesting to watch it as it advances. I like the different things you can do even in a simple software such as word.
