CHAPTER 5

Chapter 5 discusses many different types of software and how to incorporate them effectively into the classroom. The first two types of software that the chapter addresses are administrative and academic software. Both types of software are designed to make the teachers job easier. In the chapter it also reminds that the ISTE's NETS emphasize the importance of being able to use software efficiently. It also adresses Productivity software which is used most by both students and teachers. Productivity software includes programs that we use everyday such as microsoft word which would be an example of word processing software. Productivity software also includes electronic spreadsheets, database management systems, and presentation software. The chapter goes on to talk about portfolio assessment software and evaluating and selecting the right management software. It gives a rubic to help you grade and evaluate the management software.
